Procedure to do the Experiment

  1. The objective of this experiment is to observe the variation in output waveform by varying one parameter and keeping all the others constant.

  2. When the page loads the user is presented with three input parameter buttons namely Ground Capacitance(Cg),Front Resistance(Rf),Front Inductance(Lf) on left frame and a circuit representation of ICG on right frame.

  3. One of the parameter buttons is clicked to continue the experiment for parametric analysis.

  4. The user gets a display of non-editable parameters namely Charging voltage(VO),Load Inductance(Ll),Load Resistance(Rl) with default values and two editable parameters namely parameter button choosen(Cg,Rf,Lf)and Tail Time required(Td) with default values.

  5. The editable parameters are adjusted using -- and + buttons along the text box.

  6. The setup Generator button is clicked to display the Experimental setup of ICG.

  7. The Trigger Generator button is clicked to trigger the generator.

  8. When the generator gets triggered the sphere gaps break-down and the impulse current waveform generated is displayed.

  9. The salient features of the waveform namely Peak Current, peak Time,Front Time and Tail Time are displayed in the form of a graph by clicking on single output button at the top right of the page.

  10. The parametric analysis for the other parameters can be performed similarly following above steps.

  11. The waveforms so generated by performing experiment for each parameter namely Ground Capacitance(Cg),Front Resistance(Rf),Front Inductance(Lf) and different input values for other parameters can be compared by clicking on wave-form comparision button at the end of experiment.
