Fading Channels and Mobile Communications Virtual Lab

Intructions for simulator use

Prerequisites

Your PC/Laptop loaded with Java and JRE 6 or 7 only
If not there kindly install from ORACLE site
Add the JAVA path to Environment Variables

Java runtime environment is needed (may get from java.com)
Install downloaded Java and JRE
Right click on My Computer/This PC
Select Properties
Select Advanced System Settings
Select Advanced tab
Select Environment Variables
Select Path under System Variables
Click on Edit button
In Variable value editor paste this at the start of the line
C:\Program Files\Java\ "jdk_version" \bin;
Click Ok then Ok again

Go through the steps below to perform the experiment with simulator.

Step 1:

Go to the Fading Channels and Mobile Communications lab link. http://vlabs.iitkgp.ac.in/fcmc/

Step 2

Click on the List of Experiments.

Step 3

Read and close the alert box.

Step 4

Click on the experiment name which you wish to do. (For example here I am showing the 1st Experiment).

Step 5

In the experiment page go through the Introduction, Theory, and Instructions to perform the experiment.

Step 6

Under Download tab → Click on Download Experiment

Step 7

It will download a "ExpNumber".zip file.
Go to the downloaded location and extract the files.

Step 8

Double click on the "ExpNumber".jnlp file

Step 9

It opens the experiment simulator
Perform the experiment as per the instructions in the webpage
