Ohm's Law
INSTRUCTION
- Connect the components as mentioned below:
L1-L3, L3-L7, L4-L5, L4-L8, L6-L9, L9-L12.(For eg. click on 1 and then drag to 3 and so on.)
- Click on 'Check Connection' button to check the connections.
- If connected wrong click on 'Delete all connection' button to erase all the connections.
- Set the Resistance Value (1 Kohm - 100 Kohm).
- Set DC voltage (0-30 V).
- Voltmeter is placed parallel to resistor and ammeter in series with resistor.
- Now note the Voltmeter and Ammeter reading for the DC voltage and click on 'Add to table' button.
- Increase the DC voltage by a factor of 2 and note Voltmeter and Ammeter Readings. Keeping resistance value constant
- Click on 'Plot' button to plot the V-I graph to verify Ohm's Law.
- V versus I graph is a straight line.
- Therefore from the graph we see that the resistance do adhere to Ohm’s law. Thus resistance is said to be an Ohmic device.
- Repeat the experiment for another set of resistance value.
